The “Covfefe” Deflection

In the short time that has passed in the Trump presidency, there seems to never be a dull moment. Of recent viral interest was his mysterious tweet, “Despite the constant negative press covfefe“.

Several articles have been written about the possible meaning of the word, “covfefe“. Just this morning, MSN news said that the word doesn’t seem to exist in any human language. That appears to be the case when viewing the “word” in its exact spelling. However, in Samoan, the syllables, “ko and fefe” when said together, have been discovered to mean, “pregnant and frightened“, according to BBC. That was the closest finding to the actual odd combination of letters that could be discovered anywhere.

Several Trump supporters tried to twist the words into a favorable meaning, such as Arabic for “in the end, we win” ,but this was just taken from an undocumented blog. In other words, “fake news“.

Sean Spicer even had his own opinion of covfefe, saying that, “the tweet speaks for itself...”, simply a press secretary’s way of skirting an unanswerable question.

Not to be outdone, The Babylon Bee, a Christian media that always seems to border on satire, stated in an article that the Pentagon had to scramble to change the nuclear codes from “covfefe”. That one does deserve an actual laugh.

The grounds on the bottom of the swamp of dark liquid, (for I envision covfefe to be a type of thick coffee, maybe Russian in origin), is that it has been a distraction from #Russiagate, which looms ever closer this coming week. Former FBI Director James Comey will be testifying before the Senate regarding any information he has on Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election, (and possibly other collusion). It is unlikely that President Trump will try and silence him with Executive Privilege, as that will be the same as slapping a big “GUILTY” sign on the oval office door.

The covfefe is brewing…
