Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor Is Cancelled After 2 Decades 21st Century Fox Announces

After more than 20 years the top-rated show on Fox News, The O’Reilly Factor, has come to an end amidst new allegations of sexual harassment being made against its premier host, Bill O’Reilly.

An official statement released by Fox News on Wednesday afternoon confirms the widespread rumors which have surfaced over the last few days.

“After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the Company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel,”

In early April the New York Times reported that Bill O’Reilly and Fox News had paid $13 million to settle sexual harassment cases brought by multiple women over the years. Since the initial report, two additional women have come forward with similar claims of sexual misconduct.

As these allegations surfaced and new ones continued Bill O’Reilly became a liability to the network as upwards of 50 advertisers dropped out of what was once one of the most sought-after time slots.

This decision by Fox News brings an abrupt and ignominious end to The O’Reilly Factor.

  1. I think you might be missing a word in the final paragraph, perhaps “opted” or “dropped” before “out of?”

    1. Ah yes you are absolutely right. Good eye. Thank you for pointing that out.
