Why Doesn’t Donald Trump Have a Nickname for Vladimir Putin?

by Tony Wyman Lyin’ Ted.  Little Marco. Little Rocketman.  Pocahontas. 1% Biden. Alfred E. Newman. Animal Assad.  Donald Trump has a nickname for everyone, it seems. Everyone except Russian President Vladimir Putin. No “Sad Vlad” or “Little Putinpie” or “The Murderer of Moskva.”  No “Goober of Gorky” or “Moscow Mule” or “Bald Boris.”  Where President Putin is concerned, Donald Trump has nothing but good things to say. “You know what? Putin’s fine. He’s fine. We’re all fine.  We’re people,” President Trump said in July 2018, responding to press questions about…

The Election Called Because of Climate Change

By Janice Barlow It’s Game Seven of the World Series. Bottom of the 15th inning. Score tied 4-4. Bases loaded. Two men out. The home team has used up all of its pinch hitters and the pitcher is due at the plate. He has a batting average of .042. What should the manager do? It doesn’t matter! Suddenly, a lightning bolt streaks down from the sky, knocking out power to all the lights in the stadium. A violent microburst of wind, hail, and rain lashes from out of nowhere, sending…

Jesus Would Be Facing A Prison Sentence In Federal Court On Migrant Smuggling Charges

image of Jesus Christ as portrayed in the CNN documentary series, "Finding Jesus"

by Richard Cameron   I, as a general matter of policy as Editor in Chief, tend to strenuously avoid articles that delve into religious issues. We have a sister publication, National Candle, whose wheelhouse is just that. However, rules are made to be broken. Had Jesus been incarnated in the flesh in the American Southwest and brought light, hope and salvation to residents and immigrants alike, in the border zones of the Sonora Desert between the United States and Mexico, He would have found himself under the close scrutiny of…

Trump’s Royal Embarrassment Of Himself And America In Great Britain

photo of thousands in London protesting the visit to Great Britain of U.S. President Donald Trump

by Richard Cameron   Once again, as regularly as the sun rising in the East, Donald Trump succeeds in making America look profoundly foolish on the international stage – this time in a command performance in England, at the invitation of Her Majesty, Queen of England. Trump managed, in this trip, to: Insult a member of the Royal Family, the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, calling her “nasty”. Launch into a contemptuous slag of the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan – terming him a “stone cold loser”.…

Trump isn’t the Cure for the Cancer Destroying American Politics, He’s the Disease

by Tony Wyman “To my friends who wonder how a decent, educated woman could support a crude, narcissistic reality TV show host and erstwhile pro-wrestling figure like Donald Trump as president, I answer that it’s simple,” wrote Dr. Robin Burk, former West Point instructor and researcher at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in an article recently published in the unabashedly pro-Trump online publication American Greatness. The article is a very well written explanation of how a woman as intelligent, cosmopolitan and worldly as Dr. Burk could come to see a…

Donald Trump – Master Of Bait And Switch And Evaporating Claims

image titled "Trump's Affirmation Landfill" depicting a garbage truck with a "Trump" logo, offloading trash.

by Richard Cameron   If you look closely, or even not so closely at the outcomes of virtually every assertion that Trump and his administration have made in the last 28 months and even reaching back before his inauguration – a distinct pattern emerges. The pattern? Trump makes claims about his presidency that receive a lot of traction in the right wing media, but that inevitably, whether it is a day later, a week later or even a few months, are found to have been fictitious. It started with Trump’s…
