Trump’s Use Of National Enquirer As A Threat Is Laughable To Intelligent People

Cover image of National Enquirer Tabloid claiming that former President Obama has a secret plot to Impeach Donald Trump

By Janice Barlow The National Enquirer – Donald Trump’s Impotent Sword Of Damocles    Just when we thought tabloids had sunk below the level of FAKE NEWS, the National Enquirer has resurfaced once again. President Trump’s most recent Twitter rants about MSNBC co-hosts of its Morning Joe show apparently went deeper than just the mild stick in the eye that we’ve become accustomed to. Both Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski claim that a White House aide had contacted them with essentially what amounted to blackmail. If they apologized for their…

Trump’s Misogynistic Tweets – Donald Trump Is A Sad Excuse For A Man And A President

picture collage of Mika Brzezinski, Donald Trump and GOP Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins' Tweet

by Tony Wyman  Trump and his misogynistic tweets are just sad … There used to be a time in this country, back when it was greater than it is today, when men defended the honor and reputations of women against other men.  Maybe those were chauvinistic days, when men assumed that women were fragile, weak and defenseless. Perhaps women have never really needed the protection of men to the extent that some of us, myself included, are willing to offer them.  Perhaps all along women have been more than capable…

Meme with man comforting dog and text, "Say No To The Yulin Dog Meat Festival"

by J. Lee The 2017 China Lychee and Dog Meat Festival began on June 21st and ends on June 30th. The festival is not officially recognized by the government, but many see their silence as a sign of consent. Promoters justify the event by saying dogs eaten in the summer keeps the consumer healthy and it keeps summer heat at bay. The Independent:  Yulin Dog Meat Festival – “The Yulin “Lychee and Dog Meat” festival is an annual 10 day event where over 10,000 dogs are eaten. Cat meat, fresh lychees…

POTUS Trump Continues Conduct Unbecoming – Latest Targets “Morning Joe” And Mika

collage of Donald Trump and Mika Brzezinski photo images

by Richard Cameron Adding to the near daily and growing body of evidence that Donald Trump’s behavior as President is both an international embarrassment as well as confirmation that he is temperamentally unfit to occupy the Oval Office, is his tweet barrage against Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program. About the program and its hosts, Trump tweeted early this morning that: I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came.. —…

Supreme Court’s Review Of Wisconsin Gerrymandering Case Could Lead To More Balanced Governance

visual depictions of strangely constructed congressional districts

by Tony Wyman The U.S. Supreme Court is about to take up a gerrymandering case from Wisconsin that could have an enormous impact on American political elections for decades to come. The case, Gill vs Whitford, is under appeal after a lower court decided Wisconsin’s 2016 redistricting plan constituted an “unconstitutional partisan gerrymander” and gave the GOP an unfair advantage in future political races. What is gerrymandering? Wiki defines gerrymandering as, “in the process of setting electoral districts, gerrymandering is a practice intended to establish a political advantage for a…

Wildlife Conservation And Protection – The Destruction Of Trophy Hunting

One species of African elephant, the bush elephant, is the largest living terrestrial animal. Their large ears enable heat loss. Males stand 3.2–4.0 m tall at the shoulder and weigh 4–6000 kg.

by J. Lee Too many people choose to shoot wildlife with guns instead of with cameras. Two examples of killing wildlife which includes many endangered breeds are trophy hunting and hunting of exotic animals on designated hunting ranches. A recent case of trophy hunting came to the forefront when Cecil the lion was killed July 2015 by a trophy hunter. Cecil was a well known lion who lived primarily in Hwange National Park in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. He was shot by Walter Palmer, an American dentist and recreational game hunter. It was determined…

Tropical Storm Cindy Takes A Toll On Gulf Coast Sea Turtles and Shore Birds

photograph of Loggerhead Turtle

by Tyla MacAllister DeFreese Tropical Storm Cindy is just a memory for the Northern Gulf Coast now, but the early season storm took a toll on threatened sea turtle nests and shore birds. Loggerhead and leatherback turtle nests as well as the eggs and chicks of Least Terns and Wilson’s Plovers were devastated. Loggerhead turtle nests in northwest Florida seemed to be hardest hit by the tropical storm.  Mark Nicholas, a Gulf Islands National Seashore biologist told The Pensacola News Journal, of the 56 sea turtle nests identified before Cindy…

We’re All Gonna Die – With or Without Insurance – Let’s Aim for Magnificence in the Face of Fear

by Oletta Branstiter California Democrat Nancy Pelosi made a dire pronouncement regarding the Senate bill on the Republican version of health insurance legislation. On CBS This Morning, she warned, “We do know that many more people, hundreds of thousands of people, will die if this bill passes.” All of the drama and wringing of hands concerning the false right to health care serves as an effective distraction to reality. The very idea that humans have an unalienable right to “affordable health care” mandated by an oligarchy exempt from the very…

Newt Gingrich’s “Understanding Trump” – No Thanks Newt, It’s Not That Complicated

by Richard Cameron “Understanding Trump” I happened to be randomly making a tour of the Costco in Glendale, Arizona while my mother was having an eye exam.  In the course of my aimless rambling, strolling past the books offered for sale – one hardcover book arrested my attention.  It was “Understanding Trump” by none other than persistent Trump carney barker, Newt Gingrich. That such a book had arrived on the scene a week or so ago, eluded me, given that I am not the target audience for it. The target demo…
